Registration!

This week we FINALLY received the long awaited news that our land will be registering in 2-4 weeks. As soon as we register, settlement needs to take place within 14 days and then we give the green light to build! We are coming up to 11 months since we put down the deposit on the land. Even though we knew the timeframes and have been able to save, it has really really dragged on. I just need to see something on our land soon!

Once settled, we will be put on the construction list and work will commence within 20 working days. Our land was originally supposed to register in December to February, but this was delayed. Now I have my doubts that we will be in by the end of the year :( It will be tight, and my main concern is if we finish up in December, we might not be able to get our flooring done if it's close to Christmas and business closure period. November/December would also be the best time to move as it's a quieter time and easier to take leave. The public holidays help too! Shall see what happens...

On a happier note, we put down a deposit on some flooring on the weekend: coffee bamboo for most of the house and Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpet in clay path (bedrooms only). I am intrigued by this carpet which has a lifetime pet guarantee and can be cleaned with cold water only.

And here's our lucky number 13, now complete with council strip grass (plants will be in soon and pathways to come later).
